Rochester, NY, March 31, 2024 – PharmaSmart®, a leading manufacturer of clinically validated vital signs health kiosks, announced the successful deployment of its health station technology for the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) to improve remote patient access and support targeted population health initiatives.

The NYC DOHMH recently completed Phase 1 of a targeted rollout of 127 PharmaSmart Health Station Kiosks across priority zip codes known to have a high percentage of health and socioeconomic disparities. This effort aligns with New York City's place-based initiatives aimed at bringing together community-based organizations, faith-based groups and health care systems to reduce high blood pressure in New Yorkers. These health-equity-focused programs leverage technology to reduce high blood pressure disparities through neighborhood-based hypertension interventions.

“Hypertension is a significant risk factor for many cardiovascular diseases such as stroke and heart disease. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in NYC, and PharmaSmart is proud to support efforts that leverage technology to enhance access, improve early detection, and address cardiovascular risks,” said Larry Kramer, President of PharmaSmart
